This one-day basketry course introduces critically endangered techniques offering a practical and engaging entry point into traditional frame basket-making.
The first half of this one-day workshop we will go through the preparation of Willow Skeins and the splitting of Hazel to create the elements of your frame basket. After a break for some lunch the afternoon will be weaving everything together.
The workshop is suitable for beginners as well and those with some experience who would like to deepen their understanding of structure, material behaviour and traditional hand techniques.
