One day Willow weaving & Hazel frame Basketry

This one-day basketry course introduces the fundamentals of Hazel frame and Willow weaving, offering a practical and engaging entry point into traditional frame basket-making techniques.

Working with prepared Hazel and Willow, you’ll learn how to set a simple Hazel frame, begin weaving with Willow. Leave with an understanding the key principles that give baskets their strength and shape.

The day will focus on developing confidence with materials, hand positions, rhythm and structure, with clear demonstrations and plenty of supported making time.

While a full basket may not be completed in a single day, you’ll leave with a well-formed basket started, a strong understanding of the process, and the skills needed to continue at home or progress onto longer courses.
