Two to One Tuition

Experience a heritage craft following the process from log to bowl.

On your day course we will be turning on a foot-powered pole-lathe, seeing the process from log to bowl. We will be using a range of traditional tools, including axes, hook tools and knives for splitting, axing, turning and carving. All materials, tools and tuition included.
 
Located in my workshop in the Northumberland hills, you are invited to bring layers, closed toed footwear and food to keep you going. 
 
A general level of fitness is needed for this type of turning. We'll be using our legs to pump and arms to control the tools. It takes as much energy as walking up a large hill and one of those activities where you may find muscles you didn't know existed.
 
All levels of experience are welcome. I will be helping at each stage working alongside your ability to get the best experience and bowl out of your tuition.
 
The course workshop starts at 10.00am and will be finished by 4.00pm.
